The traditional way of binding a half-Windsor knot –
First Place the tie around your shoulders, high up, with the butt hanging about a foot below the thin end.
2nd Cross fat at the end of welding to make an X fairly close to your neck (around the second shirt button).
Pull the end of the third fat behind the narrow end and then right in front of it and through the neck loop.
4th Pull the end of fat in right to left, overlapping your evolving knot.
5th Pull the end of fat by the loop again, behind what now looks like a knot almost complete.
Bring the fat end of the sixth down and putting it through the knot.
7th Finish your knot by tightening again emphasize that dimples.
Another modern way to tie this knot is –
First Place the tie around the neck and cross the wide end of the tie before the end close.
Fold the second wide end behind the narrow end and bring them forward on the opposite side. The left and right of the narrow end, and inside the loop around the neck, forming a triangle.
Continue to fold the third link on the side of the triangle, rotating around the triangle in one direction. The sixth fold terminate all across the top node of the back, press the end through the loop to the node between the fourth and fifth lines, work on all wrinkles, and tighten the knot.
If the fourth equality is uneven, loosen the knot and try again to give more or less time at work.
